JOYFUL CHOREOGRAPHY. LIVE MUSIC. THE ROOM WHERE everyone accesses joy.

A high-energy, all-levels dance experience accompanied by live music. Created by Tracy Straus; NYC choreographer, creative director and teaching artist.

BIJA BEAT IS MORE THAN A TYPICAL FITNESS CLASS.

You'll learn real choreography while dancing to live music; the front of the room shifts and different people lead. No mirror to judge yourself in, no back row to hide in. By the end you've danced something real, and you've done it together.

Together we create what sociologist Émile Durkheim called "collective effervescence." Come once and you'll understand.

A transformative group experience that will elevate your team.

An hour of real dance, live music, and the kind of laughing-in-the-same-room connection that no trust fall has ever produced. No experience needed. No one left behind.

Bagels + Beats at the Bija Loft.

One Saturday a month, we host events in a private Tribeca loft for a dance class followed by bagels, coffee, and conversation. $30 per person. Twenty five spots. They fill.

Every class gives back.

A portion of every Bija Beat session supports Celebrate the Beat, the nonprofit Tracy founded 25 years ago — free, professional dance education for children in Colorado schools. 55,000 children and counting.

Tracy is a NYC-trained dancer and choreographer who has spent 30 years building rooms where people feel what dance can do — from professional stages to school gyms to the Bija Loft. Bija Beat is where all of it comes together.
